The First Family of AWE

It’s tough enough taking bumps for a living and living out of suitcases and trying to remember which city you’re in so when they hand you the mike you don’t mess up and talk about how great or how lousy Sioux City, Iowa, is when you’re in Lincoln, Neb.

Imagine having the spouse and kids along for the wild ride, and you can begin to imagine the life of Micah Fletcher and Maile Lei.

“We packed suitcases, and that was it,” said Lei, a top contender for the AWE Vixxens title, and the wife of Fletcher, a top contender for the AWE World Heavyweight Title.

The couple also has two children, ages 9 and 15, who travel with Mom and Dad when they can, but there’s also the reality of either Mom or Dad needing to “stay home with the kids or pick them up from school or do homework,” as Lei points out.

“A lot of stuff gets in the way. But we make it work together. We understand that it’s going to take both of us to do it,” Lei said.

For Fletcher, seeing their 15-year-old son now at an age where he’s competing on his high-school wrestling team is a thrill, so the sacrifices are worth it.

“It’s easier because Maile understands the hustle that we have to do to pay our bills and survive,” Fletcher said.

Also a benefit: “We both know where we are at all times,” Lei said.

“We get to stay together, our family gets to stay together. My husband is not off for like a month somwhere I don’t know where he is or what he is or what he’s doing. And vice versa,” she said.
