Final smackdown before The Final Countdown

Ricky Morton hates Kevin Nash. That’s the gist of it.

“You have for 15 years. Well, we’re a week away,” said Nash, who will face Morton and his tag-team partner, Robert Gibson, The Rock-n-Roll Express, in the main event of the Oct. 15 AWE Night of Legends pay-per-view.

Nash still needs to find a tag-team partner. The Rock-n-Roll Express took out Marvin Ward, who had been scheduled to tag with Nash in the Night of Legends match, at AWE Night of the Superstars last month.

He doesn’t seem all that concerned that he’ll have any problems.

“It’s time to put up or shut up. I’ve got a feeling you’re not going to be able to put up, but you know what, I’ve got the capability to shut you up,” Nash said.

“You may hate me, but you know what, I guarantee at the end of that night, you’re going to beg me not to end it,” Nash said.

Morton and Gibson took this latest salvo from Nash in stride.

“After all these years in professional wrestling, we’re still out on the road every night. We don’t get that guaranteed check that comes in the mail every week. See, we work hard for a working man’s dollar,” said Morton, in another gibe at Nash, who makes no bones about how he was able to do well for himself with guaranteed contracts in WWE and WCW.

“We stand up for the AWE. That’s what we’re all about. And you, Kevin Nash, and your Cliq, no, we’re not going to let you come in here and invade us. We’re going to stand our ground. And we stand for AWE,” Morton said.
